Child Safety Standards Policy
Adults only territory. Zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation.
Effective date: September 29, 2026
This public policy describes the standards we apply to child sexual abuse and exploitation (“CSAE”) on Sheer Dating. It supplements the Terms of Service, Community Guidelines and Privacy Policy. It applies to every account, profile, message, event, prompt, AI interaction, generated output, report, and other use of the Service.

1. Purpose and scope
Sheer is an adults-only dating and social-discovery service. Children are not permitted to create or use accounts. We maintain zero tolerance for conduct or Content that sexually abuses, exploits, grooms, traffics, sexualizes, or otherwise endangers a child.
This policy applies worldwide to conduct on the Service and to off-Service conduct that involves a Sheer user, connection, or event or creates a material child-safety risk to the Sheer community. It is a published standard for users and distribution platforms and does not limit any broader prohibition in the Terms or Community Guidelines. For versions of the App distributed through the Apple App Store, Google Play, or another platform, any stricter child-safety or user-generated-content rule imposed by that platform also applies to that distribution channel.
2. Adults-only standard and definitions
For this policy, a “child” or “minor” means a person under 18, even if local law uses a lower age for another purpose. A higher minimum age always applies where law requires it.
“CSAE” includes child sexual abuse, exploitation, grooming, enticement, trafficking, sextortion, sexualization, or endangerment. “CSAM” means child sexual abuse material as defined by applicable law and platform policy. Our policy also prohibits simulated, fictional, illustrated, animated, altered, or AI-generated sexualized depictions of children or apparent children even where a particular depiction does not meet a statutory definition of CSAM.
- A person under 18 may not create, access, or use a Sheer account.
- Users may not help a minor obtain access, lend an account to a minor, or misstate a minor’s age.
- Users may not post or send images or other Content depicting a minor through user-facing features, including nonsexual childhood or family photographs, unless Sheer expressly directs submission through a protected support or legal channel.
3. Prohibited conduct and content
The following is prohibited, whether attempted, completed, requested, threatened, promoted, joked about, roleplayed, or facilitated:
- creating, uploading, storing, possessing, requesting, purchasing, selling, sharing, transmitting, linking to, or soliciting CSAM or any sexualized depiction of a child or apparent child;
- grooming, enticing, recruiting, contacting, or communicating with a child for sexual, exploitative, trafficking, or abusive purposes;
- sexualizing a child, discussing sexual activity involving a child, or requesting sexual roleplay involving a child, a fictional child, an age-ambiguous person, or a youth-coded character;
- sextortion, coercion, threats, blackmail, manipulation, or inducements used to obtain sexual material, secrecy, money, meetings, or sexual interaction from or involving a child;
- child trafficking, commercial sexual exploitation, sale or purchase of a child, forced labor, or facilitating travel, payment, advertising, or communication for exploitation;
- sharing a child’s private, identifying, school, location, health, family, or contact information in a manner that facilitates harm, grooming, stalking, or exploitation;
- depicting or celebrating physical abuse, torture, severe neglect, or endangerment of a child;
- providing instructions, coded language, links, communities, or technical assistance intended to find, create, conceal, exchange, or evade detection of CSAE or CSAM; or
- uploading or redistributing suspected CSAM to report, condemn, educate, or raise awareness. Report it without copying or forwarding it.
4. AI and synthetic content
The same rules apply to prompts, roleplay, transformations, image generation, text generation, and all other AI-assisted activity.
- Do not prompt for or generate sexualized content involving a person described, depicted, coded, or reasonably appearing to be under 18.
- Do not use age-regression, school-age framing, youth-coded characteristics, or ambiguous age descriptions to sexualize an apparent minor.
- Do not use the likeness, voice, identity, or personal information of a real child in an AI feature.
- Do not create sexual deepfakes, simulated abuse, grooming scenarios, or content that normalizes or instructs child exploitation.
- Do not test, bypass, or evade age, input, output, moderation, or reporting safeguards.
Sheer may reject, filter, blur, block, preserve, or remove prompts and outputs and may restrict or disable AI features. Safety controls can be imperfect and do not make prohibited use permissible.
5. Prevention, detection, and response
Sheer maintains child-safety measures designed to deter, identify, investigate, and address child-safety risks. Depending on the feature and risk, those measures may include age assurance, account-integrity signals, in-App reporting and blocking tools, automated classifiers or matching tools, provider controls, and trained human review. We may adapt these measures as technology, law, product design, platform requirements, and risk evolve.
When Sheer obtains actual knowledge or a credible report of apparent CSAE or CSAM, it may take prompt action appropriate to the circumstances, including restricting access, removing or disabling Content, suspending or permanently terminating accounts, preventing re-registration, preserving relevant information, and reporting to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (“NCMEC”), law enforcement, app stores, or other competent recipients where required or permitted by law.
Sheer maintains processes intended to comply with applicable child-safety reporting duties, including 18 U.S.C. § 2258A where applicable. These standards do not require Sheer to affirmatively monitor every user or communication beyond what applicable law requires.
6. Reporting child-safety concerns
Report suspected underage use, grooming, exploitation, trafficking, CSAM, or other child-safety concerns through the in-App reporting mechanism. You may also contact safety@sheer.dating.
- Provide the account, profile, message, event, or feature involved and enough context to locate the issue. Do not attach or forward suspected CSAM unless an authorized reporting channel expressly instructs you to do so.
- Block the account if appropriate and stop engaging with suspected exploitative conduct. Do not confront a suspected offender in a way that could increase danger or destroy evidence.
- If a child may be in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or law enforcement. In the United States, reports may also be submitted directly to the NCMEC CyberTipline.
A report to Sheer is not a substitute for contacting emergency services or authorities. Sheer is not an emergency-response provider.
7. Information handling and cooperation
Sheer may collect, use, preserve, and disclose account, device, Content, communication, location, payment, verification, report, and technical information as described in the Privacy Policy and as permitted or required for child safety, evidence preservation, legal compliance, reporting, investigation, prevention of repeat abuse, and protection of users or third parties.
We may cooperate with NCMEC, law enforcement, courts, regulators, child-protection organizations, app stores, service providers, and other competent recipients. We may limit information shared with a reporting user to protect a child, a reporter, privacy, an investigation, anti-abuse methods, or legal process.
8. Enforcement, appeals, and limitations
A violation may result in immediate Content removal, feature restriction, account suspension, permanent termination without refund where permitted, device or payment blocking, prevention of re-registration, preservation of evidence, or reporting to competent recipients. Sheer need not wait for a criminal conviction or final adjudication before taking protective action.
Where Sheer offers an appeal or applicable law requires one, the user may follow the process described in the enforcement notice. We may decline to disclose sensitive evidence or investigative details. Child-safety decisions may remain in effect during an appeal.
No moderation system detects every violation. Sheer’s reporting, blocking, filtering, review, and response measures do not create a warranty that the Service will be free of prohibited conduct, a promise of a particular outcome or response time, or a duty to monitor every user or communication beyond applicable law and applicable platform requirements.
