Community Guidelines

Somewhere between hidden and revealed

Effective date: September 29, 2026

Sheer provides a place for adults to explore connection on their own terms. Romantic or casual. Serious or playful. Traditional and family-oriented or not so much. Kinky, asexual, curious, private, expressive — there is no one right way to be here. Whatever brings you here, you belong as long as you leave room for other people and respect their choices.

We are not here to decide whether consenting adults are too candid, too unconventional, too direct, or too private. The line is consent, law, privacy, and safety — not taste or personal preferences. Please be mindful of other people and their choices.

We set up layers of privacy so you decide what to reveal, when, and to whom. Everyone else gets the same choice.

These Guidelines are the practical ground rules for profiles, messages, events, AI features, Content, and conduct connected to Sheer. They form part of the Terms of Service. The Terms contain the fuller legal rules and control if there is a conflict. The Privacy Policy and Child Safety Standards Policy also apply where relevant.

Thank you for reading these Guidelines and trusting us and the safe space we create.

1. Adults only

Sheer is 18+. No exceptions.

Our Child Safety Standards Policy applies without exception to anything involving minors.

2. Adult expression is welcome. Unwanted content is not.

Sheer is a place for adults to be open about dating, desire, sexuality, kink, fantasies, and relationships. We do not tone-police consensual adult expression. What can be displayed in a profile or shared through a particular feature may still be limited by consent, law, and the rules of the platform through which the App is distributed.

The line is simple: everyone involved must be an adult, and anyone receiving or appearing in intimate or sexual content must have agreed to it.

Profile photos are different because they are shown to other people before each viewer has chosen to receive intimate material. Sheer automatically screens profile photos and rejects photos containing nudity or overt sexual imagery. This is a consent and distribution rule, not a judgment about consensual adult expression. If you use Sheer through the Apple App Store, Google Play, or another distribution platform, the rules that apply to that version of the App also apply to the content and features available there. If these Guidelines would otherwise permit something that the applicable platform rules prohibit, the platform rules control for that distribution channel. Sheer may therefore filter, limit, or withhold particular content or features by platform or territory.

3. Privacy without pretending

You can be private without pretending to be someone else.

You do not have to reveal your legal name, workplace, exact location, or anything else the Service does not require you to make public and visible to other people. But the identity and eligibility information you give Sheer must be truthful.

4. Freedom without coercion

Sheer is not a civility contest. You can be blunt, weird, provocative, political, irreverent, frank about sex, or simply not someone else’s type. We do not police consensual adult kinks, relationship structures, preferences, or unpopular opinions merely because another person dislikes them.

But freedom is not a license to take away someone else’s agency or safety.

5. Keep exploitation and commerce out of it

Sheer is for personal connection, not for buying access to people or turning other users into customers.

Talking about money is not the problem. Deception, pressure, exploitation, or using a dating interaction as a sales funnel is.

6. No scams or financial plays

Connection should not be a setup for a financial loss.

7. AI can be fantasy. It cannot be a loophole.

Some Sheer AI features may be flirtatious, adult-themed, imaginative, or capable of generating adult-oriented images where the feature is available. Those features are software, not people, and the same basic lines still apply. Availability and output controls may differ by platform or territory.

An AI output is not verification, advice, or a promise that something is true, safe, lawful, or appropriate for your situation.

8. Events and real-world conduct

Sheer may help users discover, create, or join events. An event can be social, educational, romantic, cultural, sporty, kinky, sex-positive, or otherwise adult in nature. Unless Sheer expressly says otherwise, users or third parties organize the event — not Sheer.

The same line follows you offline: adults, consent, law, and privacy. No coercion, trafficking, sexual violence, illegal commercial sexual activity, fraud, or other unlawful conduct.

Serious conduct connected to a Sheer match, conversation, event, or introduction can affect your account even if it happens away from the App. That includes credible reports of sexual violence, stalking, trafficking, threats, fraud, exploitation, or other conduct that creates a material safety risk.

9. Do not break Sheer

Use one personal account unless Sheer expressly allows otherwise.

10. Report what crosses the line

If you simply do not want to interact with someone, block them. If someone crosses these Guidelines or creates a safety issue, report them through the in-App tools or contact safety@sheer.dating.

Depending on what happened, Sheer may remove or limit Content, restrict features, suspend or terminate an account, prevent re-registration, preserve relevant information, or report conduct to a safety organization or authority where permitted or required by law. Serious violations can lead to immediate removal without a warning.

We may use automated tools and human review. Moderation is not perfect, and these Guidelines do not mean that Sheer monitors every interaction or will catch every violation. We may withhold details of a report or decision where disclosure could compromise another person’s privacy, safety, fraud prevention, or an investigation. If an appeal is available or required by law, we will tell you how to use it.

11. We can interpret our rules

We want Sheer to remain open without pretending that every situation can be reduced to a checklist. These Guidelines cannot describe every form of misconduct, and platform rules and applicable law can change. Sheer may interpret and apply these Guidelines in context and may restrict or refuse access as permitted by the Terms of Service and applicable law. We may decline to disclose details of a report or enforcement decision when doing so could compromise another person’s privacy or safety, an investigation, or our anti-abuse systems. If we previously terminated your account, do not create another account to get around that decision.

12. Changes and contact

We may update these Guidelines as Sheer changes, new features launch, risks evolve, or the law or platform rules change. We will provide any notice or consent required by applicable law.

Questions about these Guidelines: support@sheer.dating.

Safety, underage-use, or child-protection concerns: use the in-App reporting tools or e-mail safety@sheer.dating.

If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services. Sheer is not an emergency-response provider.
